Alarm: Avital 3100
Vehicle: 1992 Toyota Tercel
This will be my first ever alarm install.
My question: the antenna wire sticking out from the brain is less than 2ft long and I was wondering whether to extend the wire by soldering on additional length or by purchasing a DEI HF antenna?
What do you guys suggest?

Will ruin it. It isn't worth it, just get the existing antenna lead up one of the A pillars behind the plastic trim.

thanks for the reply.
Since the wire is less than 18 inches long I'll run it up my B pillar.
Also, I have another question regarding the install of a DEI 520T back up battery to the Avital 3100.
On the 520T install instructions it says to connect the blue wire from the backup battery's module to the alarm's trigger circuit.
In the diagram below, should I connect the 520T's blue wire to the Avital's WHITE/ Blue (-) Optional Accessories wire?

No, not the WHITE/ blue...connect to the Avital's blue wire. If you're about to connect the hood switch to it, use diodes to isolate each trigger source. The blue wire from the backup battery sends a ground signal to the alarm if the battery is unplugged.

It says run it to the blue trunk trigger wire. So why are you asking this question?

The blue wire is a negative input, the diagrams suggests the trunk pin but you can use it for your purpose. If you do want the trunk pin, use diodes to isolate both circuit.

Yes and as it shows in the diagram use 1N4004 diodes.

thanks for answering my questions all.
I really appreciate it and am thankful for your time.
I was wondering, should I connect the 506T audio sensor to the alarm's blue wire as well?
If so, what actually gets connected to the alarm's orange wire and blue/white wire; just out of curiosity?
Thus I assume I can de-pin/remove those wires from the harness since I won't be using them.
Alos, another connection question if you don't mind:
*I am also going to add a Piezo siren in the interior: is this diagram correct?
