99 gmc radio?

We install double din units in those vehicles.  Next time we do one, I will take pictures.

I have no idea what kind of kits you have seen, we use the Metra 99-3002 and it fits and looks great.

Do you modify the kit at all to make it work ? The 2003+ trucks we have no problems with installing a double DIN, but the 1999-2002 trucks ( as far as we know ) can not support a double DIN unless there's a kit that works.

We charge 200 dollars labor insted of the usual 75 dollar Video Screen labor rate.  The additional 125 is for the extra cutting and fabbing of a kit.  On the dash bezel, the trim piece between the radio and the top of the AC control is cut out.  The unit sits directly on top of the AC unit.  The top of the bezel has to be cut and filed as well.  ABS side covers are fabbed up because the radio is not as wide as the opening of the dash.  I have heard of others using a kit and cutting it out.  I have tried to get my installers to at least try that route, they are comfortable doing it as they do. 

There is also cutting inside the dash that has to take place.  Just a bracket.  No AC vents just the bracket that houses the hole that the positioning shaft at the back of the OEM radio slides into.

We did not do this install.  There are gaps to the left and the right of the unit.  We would have used some textured ABS plastic to take care of the gaps.  This is only to see what the bottom of the deck looks like when it sits atop of the AC control unit.  The top of the dash bezel has to be cut as well.  It just takes some time to get the top to look good.
