I will be installing a autopage 750 in my 98 Ford Explorer sport. What is the best way to get a round the PATS system in this vehicle.

Does ford make a  bypass on this model year?

Are you sure your Explorer has PATS? If you do, there'll be a red THEFT light in the instrument cluster. And the head of your key will be thick, with a little rectangular plug visible at one end.
If you have PATS, there are two ways to get around it. It mostly depends on how many keys you have, how patient you are while installing, and whether or not you're willing to give up one of your spare keys.
1. Lose one of your spare keys. Get something like the DEI 555U. It's very simple. You permanently put one of your spare keys into the module, and then take the car's steering column apart, and put the ring around the keyhole. It's easy and works every time.
2. Keep all your keys. Get something like the DEI 555F. There are a few fairly easy programming steps involved and you need TWO good Ford keys to do the programming...you get to keep all your keys when you're done, but again, you NEED two working keys to program. After that's done, the 555F has a small pellet that you affix to the ignition switch (after taking the column apart).
The 555F is a little fussy about placement. You will probably have to do a little trial-and-error to find a spot where it works, and then glue and/or zip tie it into place. The pellet is also made of glass, so you must be careful to not crush it.
If you're paying full retail, the price of both pieces is about the same...I think $40? If you're getting wholesale pricing, the 555U will be a little cheaper.
So it's basically up to you. Use the 555U for guaranteed results and a quick job, or use the 555F to keep all your keys, although with about 15 minutes more work (for a rookie) to get it working.

Oh, I just realized you have a '98. Some older Fords only require that you have one key to program the 555F...and I think it's '98 and older. So you may be okay even if you only have one good key, but check the instructions to make sure.

If your key has the blue oval with the ford logo then you will need to use the 555U bypass
