spdt
sp stands for single pole refering to the pole 30 in your case and the dt stands for double throw which refers to poles 87 & 87a.
its a double throw because only one of the throws are use at any given time. it throws one way (87) and then the other(87a,) when the coil circuit (85 &86) loses power or ground.
a similar relay rated as a spst (single pole single throw) would have only an 87 (if it was considered a N.O. (normally open)) or
an 87a ( "a" refering to "at rest" making it a N.C. (normally closed)) terminal.
make sure you used a relay that can handle about 30 amps and you shouldnt have any relay failure problems.
always carry an extra relay or two in the car in case you have a problem while one the road.
have you considered using a 530t dei window module instead?
for longer term reliability, dont ground the relays to the door.. ground them to the body.

Use a DEI 530t with your switches, not the relays. It will give you the option of one-touch up and down for both windows.
or get proper 5 wire switches from Spal, then NO relays required.

Probably £40-60 on ebay or a car alarm dealer.
1.5-2mm is all you need, windows will draw about 10 amps each.
what windows are you installing? From a breakers or a kit
Google Spal for switches.

Hi,

Thankyou for your prompt reply howie II i have zoomed in on the picture of the switch and there are 6 wires so i think that where it states blue/green in the specs it means 1 blue wire + 1 green wire  not 1 blue, green wire  if this is correct am i right in thinking this switch is fine for what i want to do ?.

Thankyou again for all your help.
