The Neutral Safety Input : Is your Legacy an Automatic or Manual Transmission vehicle?

If you have an Automatic :

Verify that your car will not crank when in any gear selection other than Park or Neutral.  If that test passes then connect the Neutral Safety wire to the Parking Brake switch. This switch is found at the Parking Brake and the correct wire goes to gound when the Parking Brake is engaged.

The easiest place to find / connect is at the Keyless Lock module.  That was the top picture in the prior post with the Lock, Unlock and Horn wires marked.  Look for the RED / White door trigger and the Yellow/Black Trunk trigger wires there.  Use your Digital Multi Meter to verify you found the correct wires.

DMM setup for (-) Trigger wires:

DMM set to 20V DC.   Red lead to +12v constant.  Black lead to suspect wire.  DMM should go to +12v when any door is opened.

Yes, the install guide does not highlight those two relay input wire connections to ground for the Type B (-) lock wiring.   I had to look closely to see the difference between Type A (+) and Type B (-)..............      nitro bmwx 433 alarm/starter on 99 legacy - Page 2 -- posted image.

Neutral Safety has to be connected.  Other important safety wires that must be connected are the Brake (+) and the Hood Pin switch.

Diesel Wait to Start is only used on diesel engines.
