First off, here is my setup:
Car: 1990 Lexus LS400
Headunit: Clarion CZ500
Speakers: Factory
Subwoofer: Memphis Mojo 12 D2
Amplifier: Memphis PR 1x1000
I used to have a HiFonix BXi1200D hooked up to a Alpine Type-R 12 in my car before they simultaneously commit suicide (after ~2 years successful operation of both in several cars at the same settings :/). Now after a few months i've finally replaced my dearly missed bass. I am now having an issue where when my car shuts off the speakers (maybe only the subwoofer, its hard to tell) make a very loud *POP* sound. This scares me as I am afraid it will cause damage to my new stereo. I've read about "soft-on/off" on the net, but I can't seem to find anything about weather or not my head unit has this feature, and I also don't remember this being an issue with my old HiFonics/Alpine setup.
Is this something I should worry about, and is there something I can do to fix this?
Thanks in advanced the12volt, this website has been very helpful to me over the years, but I don't think I've posted on the forums until now. Thanks for all the useful content and for sharing your knowledge!

I do not think you will need the diode and capacitor for your problem, try it with just the relay, if it is still popping, try the diode and capacitor.

An issue as in my ground isn't strong enough? And grounding rca? Do you mean I could have a bare spot somewhere causing the rca to ground out?
