This how it SHOULD have been wired.

If your tilt sensor is a 507t, throw it away, if a 507m disconnect it.
90% sure it's the tilt sensor, 10% sure it's the tailgate switch.

It still does it with the tilt unplugged. Not every time but once out of 5 times or so...worse when the weather is hot

Tilt is a 507m. Install was done at a shop. The brain is mounted in the kick panel area close to the firewall and it is getting really hot. I do not know if this could be an issue.

OK, does your disco have a "hatch open" icon on the instrument panel because I'm hoping there is and it flashes whilst you're driving! Or is that too easy.....viper5902 remote start problem - Page 2 -- posted image.

No, there is no hatch open symbol on the dash. There is about every other symbol but no hatch ie. abs, check engine, service engine (they come on every month or so). It is a British Vehicle what do you expect. The dome light will come on when a door is open though, and I do not think it is coming on when this is happening. Now it is showing door trigger when I open a door instead of trunk trigger. What is going on?

Ok, I have been starting the Rover while inside. One thing I notice, is that sometimes the vehicle will turn over, but not start. When this happens, the doors remain locked, lights flash and it tries to start again. The second it tries to start again, the alarm goes off and reports trunk trigger, when I disarm the alarm by pushing unlock it then says door trigger. Does this make more sense?

Not to me but then nothing about the Disco Mkl made any sense to me, an awful vehicle built by morons, the (Europe only) diesel version couldn't get out of it's own way, didn't you notice my subtle hints before about built by Rover?
My own thoughts keep going back to the original install and did they wire the triggers according to my (actually from Directechs originally) diagram?
