It may be confusing to some, but I sent this question to DEI only to have it be "undeliverable". I assume it is because I'm not on the dei dealer list.

Im trying to figure out the pink dball wire hookup on a 2006 civic. Ive read about it in a few threads, but have found that some people wire it in diferent ways. perhaps both ways will achieve the same results.

Here is the question as I tried to send to dei (again, I apologize if it is confusing)

For a 2006 Honda Civic, the install diagram for a DBALL shows a pink (ignition output) wire connecting with the remote starter ignition output wire to a vehicle ignition wire.

The DBALL v2.08 shows connection to an un-specified vehicle ignition wire.
The DBALL v2.15 shows connection to a yellow vehicle ignition wire.
Both versions show a 3-way connection between dball, remote starter, and vehicle. However the yellow ign. wire that v2.15 refers to is a medium gauge wire, and the Ignition wire of the remote start (pink on viper 5101) is a heavy gauge wire that connects to vehicle heavy gauge ignition wire(blue on said civic).
So my question is this: Does the pink DBALL wire of either version actually 3way connect into heavy gauge ignition wires? or, Does the version difference matter in that v2.08 -pink will 3way connect to heavy gauge pink(viper 5101) and heavy gauge blue(civic ign. wire)    and v2.15 pink will connect to medium gauge yellow (listed as 'ignition' for civic) and the remote start pink heavy gauge connections will be connected solely to vehicle heavy gauge blue ign. wire?
All in all I'm considering a DBALL for it's simplifying properties, but am so confused about where its pink wire is really supposed to connect.   Thank You, Chad

I was originally going to use a PKH34, but after reading about factory key fob lock/unlock not working after the vehicle is running, I ve decided to make door lock/ trunk unlock  wiring easier and use a DBALL. But this pink wire has me perplexed. Perhaps i could stick with the PKH34 and figure out the remote starter door lock wiring.

If I hadnt mentioned, Im using a Viper 5101 on a 2006 Honda Civic Ex Automatic

Hi,

Thank you for pointing out this error.

You need to connect the pink ignition output/input from the viper and the pink ignition input from the DBALL to the vehicles main ignition wire which is Blue.

Thanks

The car has (-) trigger lock/unlock. they are right in the kick panel. The PKH34 is about half the cost of a DBALL and works just as well with the exception that it is only a transponder bypass

Yes, kreg357 has advised me to take the pkh34 route. Still waiting for it though, apparently the package was lost.

I believe when I did it there were 4 12+ to connect, but yes you can. I split mine up between 2 splice points a couple inched from each other. I may of had 5 wires, cant remember off hand.
