Installed an Arctic Start (CompuStar CM3000 brain) alarm/remote start on my '99 Ford F250 Superduty about 2months ago. Some times when I remote start it turns over but doesn't start. Will sometimes go thru the three tries (1st cycle) & not start, try again (2nd cycle) & starts. Other times it starts on the 2nd try of the 1st cycle. Haven't really found a pattern yet. Now when I use the key (manually start) it fires up first try every time.
Whats some directions I can go in to narrow this down? Thanks.

Can't extend the crank time. It actually tries to start/turn over longer when remotely started than when I use the key.

Are you using a bypass module? Could be a bypass issue if you can start it with the key in the ignition.

WHITE/ pink        ac        instrument cluster or PCM
Can also be located in the main harness that runs on the inside of the firewall to the left of the brake pedal.
On DIESELS the TACH wire is a WHITE/ PINK located at the PCM (Powertrain Control
Module) or at the Main Harness that runs on the inside of the firewall to the left of
the brake peda

Also try a high impedance test light connected to the tach wire you have selected and clamp one end to +12v and probe the would be tach signal while running and you should see the light flashing with the RPM's of the engine.

Superduties didn't start using PATS until '07 or '08 I believe. It starts with remote just not on first try sometimes.
