I apologize if this questions seem newbish, but I figure a stupid question is the unasked ones.
I also was reading up on another alarm/remote start system that I have, which came with a full detailed installation guide (Viper 5900 SST system). Since this product is very similar to the Python and is also made by DEI I was referencing it. With that system they show that the alarm arm/disarm wires need to be connected to relays. Is this true? I would have thought that this could have been connected directly the the cars factory harness. Or is this because the system is not capable of pulsing the signal and therefore needs the relay to accomplish this? This same thing was mentioned for the dome light supervision output Seems odd to me.
If I remember correctly, the factory alarm wires are negative on that car so you should be able to just connect the arm/disarm wires from the python to the vehicle. The relay is required only when the factory arm/disarm is a (+) signal or if the (-) signal out of the python is not sufficient (python output provides only 200ma output)
