dball won’t disarm some hondas.

I've been installing remote starts for about 5 years using compustar/ idatalink products. New job sells directed automate, and express kits mostly, fortin and some idtalink.   In two months, I've installed dozens of DBALLS in 10,11, and 12 pilots no problem.   The past two weeks, the DBALL isn't disarming the factory alarm and I have to hard wire a disarm to the white and red wires in the door (diode isolated).   It does run the factory door locks though, and is giving a tach signal through DBALL to remote start. It just won't disarm. Several other installers at my work have never had this issue.   I had an 08 do the same thing the other day too.   I hard wired all the DBALLs to the am6, and I have tried to re wire it data to data upon coworkers input.   Still won't disarm with the module.      Never had this problem with datalink and have done dozens of pilots.(4)g5-1244, (4)gtr12, (2)ppipcx2400, (1)pcx4125, (1)pc4800.2, (3) pair mb quart 6.5"Q, (4)optimas, alumapro (1)5 and(1)15 farad cap, premier deh-p860mp, pioneer xm -dual H.O. alternators

in my opinion the DBALL is a half decent product when it works...which is 1/10 cars. i have a thread about my experiances with dball, and it wasnt too pleasant.Ted

..I'm learning that myself.   Pkall and dlpk are the bomb when hard wired (which is an oxy moron in itself- any two d2d mfgrs ahould be sure their products work together!!!!) I did strike a possible clue today, though...   Did a 12 accord (6.2and DBALL flashed to Honda 56). Then did a second one, same car.     Module would NOT program.    Tried my backup DBALL, 56 flashed and same thing.   Can wires etc all as should.   I checked all the harnesses, and the black plug on DBALL had the org/ black stripe and a RED / blue in each others pin position in comparison to my spare. I connected the org/black stripe to the RED / blue and it programmed and worked fine (transponde/unlock/tach/disarm from DBALL )       The next one that won't disarm will quickly be inspected for proper wiring position from manufacturer.(4)g5-1244, (4)gtr12, (2)ppipcx2400, (1)pcx4125, (1)pc4800.2, (3) pair mb quart 6.5"Q, (4)optimas, alumapro (1)5 and(1)15 farad cap, premier deh-p860mp, pioneer xm -dual H.O. alternators

Thanks for pointing that out roo-dog. I thought it was just me with DBALL issues on the Hondas and some other vehicles. I agree when they work, they work great. But I had an 08 Accord a couple of months ago and the darn DBALL wouldn't program no matter what I did. And now I'm having trouble with a DBALL on a 2010 Grand Caravan (such an easy vehicle too). I have noticed the harnesses are a bit different but never checked the wiring from older models to confirm the colors are the same. I believe I will have to start switching to Idata or Fortin bypasses. The few I've used I've never had problems with. Thanks again and good luck!!

Fortin makes a great module for the new chryslers. Its a Fortin/Compustar combination and it uses a simple T=harness connection. Literally about a 10-15min install.Kenny

Thank you Kenny!! I will check Fortin and get it for that install. I am losing all faith in the DBALL. I've used other bypasses from DEI with (so far) no issues.

the fortin EVO-CHR are very nice bypass modules. I finished a 2010 dodge ram hemi in 40 min start to finish.Ted
