first things first the remote wire from the amp needs to be hooked to a wire that is only powered when the ignition is on
test a wire in your fuse panel that only registers 2 volt when the key is on....

what is your main power wire going to the amp hooked up to?
Where is your ground wire grounded?

I have the power hooked straight to the battery and im not sure what the grpund is hooked to i just know that something else is grounded to the same spot

I take it that you are using the factory radio. Are you using a hi to low converter or does your amp have high inputs..
