This problem is on my 99 Acura EL 1.6L (sold in Canada only) pretty much the same as Honda Civic. It has the stock alarm system. While driving the horn started to sound as if the alarm was set off. It stopped for a bit then started again, then I pressed the unlock button on the keyless entry that caused the horn to sound steady for several minutes, then it turned itself off altogether. The horn did sound intermittently several times after that but stopped again. Very embarrasing!!
I have 2 stock keyless remotes and neither one works to unlock or lock the car.
The little led on the remotes does go on when buttons are pressed but no response from the car, no lights flash nor the door locks open or lock. I have even tried a new battery in the remotes but still no go.
I have also disconnected the battery negative lead for few minutes to reset everything but it did not help. I have disconnected the horns for now but I would like to get it figured out.
Because it is a random problem I dont even know where to start troubleshooting. Any help would be appreciated.

either cold solder joint in alarm brain ...oem alpine?....or it's not seeing acc when car is on.   Get wire diagram and follow to brain and check conection.
