Just ordered (from eBay) a Viper Remote Start / Alarm 5901 and they sent me a Viper 5704 instead. Found on a Honda forum that the 5704 replaces the 5901, but it's not on DEI website. Features seem to be the same but the wire harness are different, shock sensor is external and did not come with an install manual. I've searched the web and cannot find it for the 5704. This will be the 6th DEI system I install but the difference in the harnesses is bugging me.
Anybody have an install for the 5704 out there?

DEI doesn't sell to the consumer and they will cancel the account of anyone they find posting their information to another site (I know this first hand)...the person that sold you the unit should be supporting you.
With that said, and since I didn't post it...have a look at this site someone else scanned in their manual asking for help on another site.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

The 5704 isn't the 5901 replacement, the 5904 is.
How many times do we have to implore people not to buy off fleabay?

The 5704 is the same as the Python 574. The install manual is in the manuals download section.
michael11209 is correct
The 5704V is the Viper 5901(5702V) replacement.- LCD REMOTES
The 5904V is the replacement for the Viper 5902. - OLED COLOR REMOTES

Also important FYI the features programming menu with the valet switch is different as well, unless you are using a bitwritter. make sure you use the correct manual or you will be changing incorrect settings shown in the older Viper 5901 manual.

Thanks for all your input and Howie I'm sorry and understand about buying off e-bay unauthorized sellers but I have an addiction to my cars and the technology that goes along with it and I can’t afford 500 or 600 for this system much less trust and let someone install it in my cars.

the installation manual didnt say how are you suppose to connect the new external shock sensor to the alarm brain. Theres a extra loop in the wire and im not sure which end does that connect to.

Hi etang789, not sure if you ever got a response to your sensor question.  I recently purchased a 5704 viper alarm and while researching wire connections, ran across your post.  I put in a 791xv alarm several years ago and found my old install manual.  That manual talks about the extra green wire as used for adding on a dual stage sensor.  Just ignore it from what I can tell.  Hope that helps.
