I am looking at installing a Viper 211HV keyless entry on a 2003 Dodge 3500 diesel that did not come from the factory with keyless entry. I believe it is a one wire power door lock system. Do I need to install resistors/relays in order to make this Viper system work? The main function I am looking for is lock/unlock, don't really need anything else. Here is a link to the manual: http://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/ig/viper/N412V_01-05.pdf
Thanks

Yes, I'm almost positive that vehicle is a one wire system and it will require resistors and relays. Do yourself a favor and find a DEI 451m. It will make things a lot easier and cleaner.

locks are negative single wire system
WHITE/ Green LOCK 850ohms (-)
WHITE/ Green UNLOCK 400ohms (-)
you can do this vehicle without relays.
a resistor inline will work. i did one 2 weeks ago.

Really? Its been a while, but I never had any luck doing just the resistors on the outputs... it was never a strong enough signal. The newer units must have a stronger output.

Okay. I'll see what I can do with some resistors. Thanks for your help.
