I need some help... I am wondering if a bypass module is needed for a 2000 Toyota Camry 4cyl? I have read through the forum and someone said it isnt needed but I am just wondering if someone could tell me a defenate yes or no?

Thanks for your help,

Easiest way to tell without opening the dash, is to wrap the black plastic part of the key in aluminum foil, shiny side out, making sure no part of it is visible where the metal key part meets the plastic, and try starting the car. If it starts, you have no need for a bypass. If it is all metal with no black plastic, there is no bypass needed either.

Hope it helps!

Or more reliable, remove the steering cowling from around the ignition switch, see if there's a black plastic cover around it with a plug with probably 2 wires coming from the plug.
Last but most obvious, try to hotwire it with and without the key in the ignition!

The 4 cyl don't have a bypass, only on the 6 cyl.
I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage
