ok im trying to decide to go with a songle sub and its down to the New JL AUdio 12W6V2
or the Kicker 12L7
it will be pushed by a us acoustic usx-800D mono amp which at 2 ohms puts rated for 600watts but i think maxes out at about 700-800 watts
im going with a sealed box and its going to be in a SUV
which would you go with
let me know what your oppinons are
thanks

really the L7
becasue i was orignally going to go with that and poeple were sayiong they suck up to much power from the amp to make them hit right
remember im not using a huge amp
i want good hard clean basswas and i installed a JL W7
and it was loud
so the kicker is better than the JL??

the w7 and the w6v2 are two entirely different subs...
if you can afford the w7, forget about the Kicker or the w6...personally I would probably go with the w6v2 even, it is a good sub...pretty clean and loud...and you dont have to stare at a bloody square sub when u open ur trunk...

I just picked up a JL w7 10" and when people get in my car they ask me what kind of 12's I have. I would go JL no doubt, also look into a new amp you wont find a lower THD (total harmonic distortion) than what JL has to offer I personally am using the 500x1 monoblock sub amp, I have no complaints

I sense some disgust towards a square sub....lol....personally never heard the kickers or the higher end JL's, but i know the JL"S can put out some good sounding bass when in the right enclosure. Last time i heard some they sounded like crap but it had to be the box they were in. And to "brentlarock", JL amps dont have the best THD rating, Diamond Audio has lower ratings but yes the JL's do have a low one as well and im sure there are more good clean amps out there. If i had JL subs i would probably go with a JL amp just for the sake of keeping certain components matched up.

take a look at McIntosh if you want hella low THD...count the zeros there too, heh...
as far as a box for a 12w6v2 I think anywhere around 1 - 1.25 would be great, and you need not be concerned with throwing 600W at it unless you build an outrageously large box and get carried away with gain and crossover settings...
