This is sonys new brand of amps for this year. I am trying to hook it up to our sound board and the protect mode light comes on every time that I turn the amp on! This is extremely frustrating. The speakers are not shorted out, but there has to be a mis-wire somewhere. If anyone has experienced the same problem with this piece of garbage amp please tell me how to rectify it. Thanks.

Try to hook up just the three basic wires ( GROUND, POWER & REMOTE ) and see if it still goes into protection mode ? The one thing to check for is the GROUND. If the ground is not absolute you will get a high resistance and the amp will go into protection mode.
