My buddy has the Alpine IDA-x100M(marine) in his boat and the Alpine IDA-x100 (normal) in his Dodge truck.  He got the new Iphone 4 phone and it plays fine in his truck but wont play at all in his boat?

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time

Bernie

Is he using the Apline iPod interface cable on both units?  If so, did the marine unit ever work?  I'd first try swapping cables and see what happens.

Does the boat's head unit even recognize the iphone?
As stated above, swapping cables would be the easiest step in troubleshooting.

Yes the ipod at one point did work but not since he got new phone.

I will have him swap cables and see if that works if it doesnt, im assuming its time for a new marine radio?

Thanks for your time and help

Yea, if swapping cables works there is something amiss with the cable, but if it doesn't work then it's the marine head unit.

Thanks everyone, it must be the head unit cause he switched the cables and nothing still.
