Hi,

I recently installed a Clifford GP1000T alarm and Directed 561T (as suggested in the GP1000T manual to be the correct option for remote start), to a 2009 Buell XB9SX.

Everything is working as expected apart from the tilt sensor;

Even though the Clifford has been programmed for remote start mode on the aux output, the alarm fails to disable the tilt sensor during the run time. I'm led to believe that this is normal for the GP1000T, due to it being a bike alarm, and it's to prevent the bike being stolen whilst running. I have noticed however though that whilst the alarm sounds and alarm, it doesn't shut down the remote start - is that because I've missed a connection?

Anyway, I would like to know if it is possible to disable the tilt sensor (temporarily durng RS, or even permenantly)? If not, should the alarm operate in this way, or have I not programmed it correctly? I've checked the programming over and over, and it appears to be correct.

If it can't be disabled, and this is the normal behaviour, does anyone know if it's possible to remove the tilt sensor from the alarm completely? I was thinking perhaps it might be possible to open the alarm up and either unplug or de-solder/cut out the sensor. I could then run an external tilt sensor via a relay cut-off for during remote start running.

Sorry for the long post, and thanks for reading.

Stu.

I'm really sorry! I've just realised that there's a dedicated section for motorcycles :(

Please can a mod move this thread if it needs to be there?
