I unplugged and plugged back in in less than 10 seconds. I didn't wait for a while. Still no sound to speakers.

I got a split second of sound when going over hard bumps. There has to be a loose wire somewhere.

I fixed it. One I the speaker mounts fell of of the door and the speaker magnetized to the door. This somehow caused all four speakers to stop working.

The terminal of the speaker had to be grounded to the chassis of the car. It being magnetically attached to the door would not cause any problems.

Yep, and that could also explain why the power IC turned off on its own: the head unit was protecting itself. Let this be a lesson: whenever troubleshooting any system problem the first thing to check is always connection tightness and integrity, including power, speakers and signal.
