prostart alarm randomly going off

I installed a Prostart/Autostart CT-5072 in my 1994 GMC Sonoma back in February 2012 and it has been working flawlessly since then up until now. Yesterday night it randomly started going off at 2AM for no reason. No storm or wind or rain. The day before it did the same but it was during the daytime and again, no apparent reason. And again this evening it started going off. Seems to be happening about 5-6 hours after being parked. When i check for intrusion codes I get nothing. I press the unlock button and the siren chirps 4 times but the LED does not continue flashing. I checked the door pins and hood pin and they all seem to be working fine. The car battery is also fairly new from January 2012 (reads 12.37V in the mornings) Any suggestions for anything else I can check that may cause this issue?

If the alarm gets activated then the next time the unlock button is pressed it makes 4 chirps to notify the owner that the alarm sounded. Then after the four chirps the LED on the antenna flashes a code to indicate what type of intrusion it was 2x = Doors intrusion 3x = Shock Sense 4x = Hood 5x = Panic 6x = Ignition In my case, I am not getting any codes.

It could be an interuption of the power or ground to the unit. Check the ground connection isn't loose or corroded. Try a different battery source of power.sparky

Everything looks good in wiring. I made sure to sand some of paint off the ground location when i installed the remote start. I am leaning towards a defective unit. I had a similar issue when i had a compustar remote start installed a couple of years ago and it turned out to be a refurbished unit was installed.

I think I may be onto something. Last week I installed a rockbox self amplified subwoofer and all that had to be connected was +12V, ground and +/- speaker inputs. There was no terminal for a remote wire. I am thinking that maybe this rockbox stays on and triggers the alarm? Is this possible?

I pulled the fuse for the +12V wire to the rockbox last night and so far its been 14 hours and no alarm.

I would disconnect the shock sensor

I just put a relay on the +12V to the rockbox so hopefully it fixes my issue.
