IAAI, the Tchefuncte River came up to the second step of our stoop. One of our friends picked us up in a pontoon boat at our front door. Our neighbors' houses flooded. We were lucky, no water in the house, only the shed. Got power back yesterday. Only one of our cars got water in it after we moved them to higher ground. Not a pretty sight in Madinsonville, but everyone is safe, though we did lose a friend to a heart attack the night of the storm. I'm still cleaning and playing catch up. Will post some photos soon. How did you make out?

Sorry to hear about your friend, and glad your were as lucky as you were. I never lost power, lost no trees or limbs. The river at the end of my road did swell and overtop the bridge. I have never seen water go over that bridge. I am about 5 feet above that bridge. So no flooding either.   We did lose power at one of our stores till Saturday morning. I had Wed, Thu, and Friday off. I knew about Madisonville, I heard they had 5 feet of water in the town hall building. George B. posted earlier that they lost a bridge that was just rebuilt since Katrina. The bridge is not the one over the Tchefuncte, it is the bridge over the T's river. At the lake.
I am glad I thought you were still in Mande, I would have been even more worried had I known you moved.
