mb quart qsd 216 tweeters too loud

Hi all, My car came with MB Quart QSD 216's when I bought it years ago. The tweeters are way too loud for me. I followed the instructions to reduce the tweeters to the minimum level but they still hurt my ears. Is there any way to further reduce the tweeter volume? You can add an L-pad... I'll assume that the tweeters are 4 ohms, but how much do you want to attenuate them? Is there any marking on the existing attenuator to tell you how far below "zero" it is? Example: any marking saying -XdB? Since "all the way down" is still too hot for you, start with an attenuator network that's that far off zero, say 6dB, and restart your adjustments with the L-pad in place, but with the Quart attenuator at the top setting.
