every tweeter needs some sort of crossover, if your amp will filter them at around 4000Hz then you can hook them up straight to the amp and set it like that. if not then expect blown tweeters if you use then unfiltered.

well it is true that each crossover/tweeter combo is designed to work together specifically but anything is better than nothing. using a crossover from another tweeter might not protect the tweeter as good as one that is made to work with that specific tweeter. if you change the tweeter then you change the way the crossover will perform too because the crossovers filter points and filter slope work based off of the tweeters electrical properties.

Ok just installed my new amp kit tsunami 1040d. Thank you 12 volt .com i used to be scared to do a full system but not anymore. I advise anyone with a little know how to never go to a stereo shop an get ripped off and do your research an diy. They were running 1 jl audio w7 12 an 1 rockford t2 12, skar audio 1500 mono block an 1 rocckford 1000 bdcp mblock an phoenix gold 400 4 channel on 4 gauge soundquest wires an this was done at the stereo shop by (professionals) they had my system starving for power and im lucky they didnt ruin my amps or anything else. I think they were mad i didnt buy the subs frm them in the first place n when i realized what they did thats when i started my research an found this site. God is good. You know it may not be the loudest but i did it all buy myself and it slammmmmmms.. thanks 12 volt.com

I have 1 jl w7 12inch sub 3ohms and 1 rockford fosgate t2 d4 12inch sub 4ohms in the same box but the ports seperate the subs in the middle of box. I have a scar 1500 on the rockford sub an i have a rockford bd1000 ont the jl. Will it ruin my subs or do i have to still have the same subs . It hits hardnow but i dont really want to ruin my subs if it will cause damage to them.
