Hi, I installed a bulldog deluxe 500B in a 2006 dodge caravan. I am using a directed electronics 556c bypass. I had to program the system by turning key 1 to run for 10 seconds , then key 2 for 10 seconds, then remote start it with the sensor by the keyhole. This all works fine and the system remote starts and runs. The problem is that now I can't start the car with the keys without the sentry system turning it off.  I can only use it by remote starting and then inserting the key. Please give me some guidance. It seems to have programmed the remote start bypass unit but unprogrammed my keys.

please help

Brian

That usually happens when your 556c is incorrectly hooked up and probably "on" all the time. The car won't start if it "sees" 2 keys at once. You could probably test this by moving the 556c pellet away from the key cylinder and see if it now starts with the key. If it does, then the 556c is in fact incorrectly wires. The 556c should only be coming on during remote start.

Thanks, I suspected as much and am trying to find out where to connect the blue activation wire from the 556c to the bulldog. Is the 556c on when its input wire is grounded or is it the opposite?
Thanks again for the help, I spent a couple of hours freezing to install it and would prefer to know which wire to hook it to before I go back outside. wisconsin is COLD.

Not being very knowledgable with bulldog stuff, do you have the H7/6 Violet of the bulldog connected to the Blue(-) of the 556c?

Go with pentavolvo wiring suggestion. Looks more correct than my suggestion.

i already have the 556c activation wire going to the h7-1 blue/black of the bulldog. however it also goes (per bulldog tech support) to the white wire of a relay which has the following connections
blue = gnd
black = thru a diode to the violet at h1-1
yellow thru a 180 ohm resistor to the starter 2 wire of the vehicle
maybe i need a diode on the 556c activation wire?, could it be being messed up by the relay?

a diode may be needed on it. you could try using H7/8 light GREEN/ black but set the programming to start status output - see page 25 it shows the programming menu.

Or h7/6 for your second starter relay. Program per page 25, Ground Output During Start (crank)
