I am having a weird issue with my Ultra remote Start Manual Trans. model 1272 installed on a 1990 ford ranger/ bronco II.
For some reason now the park lights which trigger a relay for fog lights come on now when I press the regular foot brake....
Has me somewhat baffled...Can anyone give me a good troubleshooting starting point?.
Thanks!

Diode isolate the parking light wire from alarm and brake wire.
Should take care of your issue.

Or a poor ground in one of the rear light clusters.

I've seen this issue with bad dual-filament taillight bulbs, and also once in a salty, corroded trailer wire plug.
You could temporarily cut either the parking or brake wire from the remote starter and see if the problem goes away, but I think it's more likely to be one of the two above things.

To repeat: Poor ground on the unit so no ground path. Pathway works back through other bulbs in the light cluster going back through the filament illuminating them.
Very noticeable here where all vehicles have separate amber 21 watt bulbs for indicators front, back and front side markers.

Great replies everyone! Really gives me some points to start testing! One other thing is that the bulbs are all LED park, turn , marker, and rear... Would this affect any grounds, since the LEDs are essentially a diode..?

well turns out it was just the LED upgrades were not providing a ground, so i repace two of the 194 bulbs with old filament halogen and no more lights on with brakes.
Simple fix after so trial and error.
thnx everyone!

Which brings us back to the point made by Lucas, LED lights cause this grief and he has the right answer, diode the bake output to the R/S to cure the problem.
