Vehicle 2000 Acura TL
RS Module: Viper 5301
Bypass Module: Xpresskit XK05
The module keeps resetting itself (I think). So here is the story. I hooked up the remote start including the bypass. Everything seems to be working fine for a few days. Then out of no where the remote start just cranks and cranks (3X) then quits all together. I narrowed it down to the module by inserting the key into the and starting the car with the remote, and the car would start up fine. I took the module out and re-flashed it and everything when back to normal.
Three days later it does the same thing and have to re-flash it again. I contacted the seller (ebay) and they send me a replacement unit. Everything seems fine and working as it should. Two days later same deal!
What are the chances of getting two bad modules? What should I do next? Has anyone experienced this? Could it be the Viper 5301 not activating the status wire?

You could test for the status wire, set DMM to 20VDC then red probe to a constant 12V+ and black probe to wire should go to c.12.5V+ on R/S activation.
My guess would be tach learning, hard wire tach input if not done already and reprogram.

Why would it all of sudden work when i re-flash if it is indeed the tach?

Actually no idea but the symptom sounded like no tach.
Also why would the GWR (status) work then not work.
Alternative thought...12v+ supply to by-pass failing?
How have you connected? Solder? T-Taps?

All wires are soldered. So when it doesnt work, I INSERT the key and the remote start works flawlessly. This would eliminate the system not reading a tach. I might have to find time and poke around with my fluke and see what everything is readying.
