hot tip to stop scratching remote display

HOT TIP: My alarm (Viper 5904) has the buttons on the front with the front display. This is an expensive alarm where just the remote itself (Full Color LCD display) costs over $200. Like all electronics with a display, you get a factory cover (filmed layed overtop) but that soon peels off. So I thought WHY NOT PUT A CELL PHONE DISPLAY FILM OVER IT. You know the type where you CANNOT SCRATCH IT.. So I went to Wirelesswave. Paid the $25, I cut out the film to size and had them put on the remote.. Looks amazing! I am VERY happy and now I don't have to worry about scratching the display. If you have an alarm remote with a display on the front, I HIGHLY recommend you do this.. Amazes me why I have not seen (nor heard) of anyone doing this... Seems like a no brainer..

There are leather covers for those and other remotes that have clear plastic front. Protects the remote as well as the screen.When all else fails, Read the Instructions

i like the screen protector idea. leather cases look cheesy in my opinion and add bulk to an already big keypad

Yes I know of the casing but there are two problems with that: 1. UGLY and makes it much more thick. 2. Decreases the range of the remote as it covers the antenna.

na, it doesnt reduce the range. it would be the same as keeping it in a pocket or purse.

Another good product is 3m's paint/stone chip protection film. It's flexible and can be used to protect the entire housing of the remote.
