You might have a bad module. Anything electronic can fail.

But Howie is absolutely right! I have been using Audiovox Prestige exclusively for 25+ years. I've never returned a single unit under warranty. I had one problem & it was an antenna connection solder joint that I diagnosed & repaired myself. That said-extremely dependable manufacturer! I don't use Code Alarm, but since they were taken over by Audiovox, I bet the quality is the same exact as Prestige-extremely reliable!  

Good Enough Isn't!

Funnily enough we had a swap-over of importers recently in the UK, first the new Code importers did Clifford/DEI for the last 5 years, now they do Code and soon (hopefully) Compustar. I've installed a few basic Codes with no problems, considering the trade price is HALF of a 1002 Viper, plus a 451 for anything but low NEG locks I'm quite happy to install them till the cows come home. Again, the Avox/Prestige instructions even more than DEI are NOT for the lay person, they can be extremely confusing until you get to know the quirks.
