Hello everyone. I have a question, and I am hoping someone can help. I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 5.3 engine Crew cab. It has a Viper 5901 two way alarm. I just purchase a tailgate power actuator (2 wire model). I want to connect this actuator to open with my AUX button. I know I will need to use a relay to make this work.
Questions:
Will I need to use one AUX channel or will I have to use two?
Do you guys have any other advice?
I really don't want to damage my alarm. It has worked flawlessly for 4 years, so I would really appreciate your expertise. Thanks in advance for your time.

One more thing I need to clarify. I need the actuator to lock/unlock with the AUX button. I don't want to set it up with the regular door actuators because I need this door actuator to be totally separate from the door lock setup (for security reasons). If somebody were to break into the truck, they could simply push the unlock button, and gain access to the contents that is being secured in the bed of the truck (I have a bed metal cover).
