Good morning y'all,
A few years back, I inherited an old truck from my father, a 91 F250. It has a Viper model 600 alarm that has been working fine. Now I have to replace one of the remotes due to age, wear & tear. I was able to find one on Ebay that matches the FCC #'s on the back. My question is how do I program it to my alarm? I dont have any manuals other than the install manual , which doesnt have these instructions. DEI doesnt have manuals going back that far on their website.
I dont know if the newer Viper alarms are as good as this unit is, but its been working fine for going on 20 years now, which aint bad these days.
Thanks in advance
Mike

See if this link will work for you.  Found it on a google search.  Also check the downloads section of this site.

Tanks for the reply, smokeman. The alarm is an older model than the link you provided, which is for a model 600 ESP. Mine is the older model 600. I looked over the manual and the remotes arent the same, nor are the methods for using the remotes. mine only has 2 buttons - 1 for the alarm and 1 for no chirp silent mode.
I'll look in the downloads section here and follow up

I Checked the Downloads section here and only the model 600 ESP manual is shown.
The search continues....

the old viper 600 if it's the first or second are both scratch type codes you pull the remotes apart and cut the little traces to match the alarm.

Thanks Smokeman1 & Stereo068 for the replies. I tried the youtube procedure with no luck, I found an older different youtube procedure from the Lesco on programming Clifford alarms which called for toggling the valet switch 13 times. Still didnt work for this one.
Long story short, I opened up the 2 remotes and I think I saw the scratch area Stereo068 was referring to on the oe remote. The replacement fob had a different chip in it with no area to scratch the contact. So I was able to put tho OE circuit board in the newer case and it is working good for now. The original case was so damaged from the years that the plastic push buttons werent pressing the switches inside very good.
Hopefully I will sell the truck before any more issues happen with this alarm. If not, I'll spring for a new viper alarm, cuz they do like to steal old trucks in Phoenix. And I cant knock this Viper's reliability
