Hi, newbie to posting. I can usually find what I'm looking for just by browsing through forums, but I'm stumped, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 91 Camry I'm installing the Valet 561R on and my problem is that I get no start with remote. I do get doors lock/unlock, lights flash, lights flash when push to start, but no start. I've got diagnostic code 6 (shutdown). Hood pin & neutral safety good, 12v at brown brake wire when brake is applied. Instructions did not specify where satellite wires go, so they are not connected to anything. The 9 pin harness has a few I wasn't sure of and are also not connected (activation +&-).
I hope this is enough info and I look forward to a reply

Just a re-cap...
The Hood Pin input should only show (-) when the hood is open, preventing a remote start.
The Brake input should only show +12V when the pedal is depressed, preventing a remote start.
The Neutral Safety Switch input should show (-) to enable a remote start. The Neutral Safety Switch should be connected
and set to ON.
The Activation inputs are for manually triggering a remote start-up, instead of using the FOB.
For testing purposes, you can temporairily disconnect the Hood pin wire and run the Neutral Safety Switch wire directly
to chassis ground.   The Brake wire can be disconnected, too. Just have jumper wire connected to +12V ready to touch
to the Brake wire for engine shutdown or key take-over testing.
It might help if you listed the 561R's heavy gauge ignition wire connections. (Your car has two ignition wires.)
Did you run the Tach wire and do the Tach Learn process successfully?
Soldering is fun!

Thank you so much for the reply!
Yes, the hood pin shows (-) only when hood is opened, neutral safety switch connected & switch in the ON pos. Brake shutdown hooked up & showing 12v when pedal is depressed. I also have tried bypassing all.
I have done the test and when I press start button twice, I hear a click along with a single flash from the lights. If I repeat the same two presses of the start button again right after, I get the same result except the second time, after the the click and single light flash, a second click and slightly longer flash occurs.
The tach wire is hooked up and tach learn process was successful, I also tried using the manual activation wires to start & got the same results as pressing the button.
The heavy gauge wires are hooked up as follows: red to white, red to WHITE/ red, orange to blue/red, pink to BLACK/ ylw, purple to BLACK/ white, pink/white not used. Colors I just mentioned are on the ignition side of plug. Also Valet mode does not work.
I hope this info helps & yes soldering is fun!

Not real familiar with the Valet units, but shutdown diagnostics giving 6 blinks seems to point to the area you
have triple checked and tested. Would be nice if you had a spare "brain" module available.   While the locks
and parking lights are working, you could verify that you have H1/8 to a solid, clean, chassis ground location
using a soldered on terminal ring.
Might want to test your ignition wires again. While there is conflicting information in the popular wiring guides,
the wire connections shown below appear to be the most popular. The 561R's Pink/White wire is programmable
( Feature 9 ) and the default setting is IGN2 which should work OK.
1. PINK (+) (30 AMP) OUTPUT TO IGNITION CIRCUIT        BLACK / YELLOW
2. PURPLE (+) (30 AMP) OUTPUT TO STARTER CIRCUIT BLACK/ White
3. ORANGE (+) (30 AMP) OUTPUT TO ACCESSORY CIRCUIT Pink/Blue
4. RED (+) (30A) HIGH CURRENT 12V INPUT White
5. PINK/WHITE (+) PROGRAMMED to IGNITION    BLACK/ Orange
6. RED (+) (30A) HIGH CURRENT 12V INPUT WHITE/ Red
Soldering is fun!

Well guys, I found the problem. First let me thank you for taking the time to help, it's very appreciated.
I made an error in my installation, I'm usually very thorough, but this time I missed. I had the brake wire hooked up wrong. I thought for sure it was right and it was the one thing I didn't double check, even though I said I did. I kept getting a ground loop through the ignition and starter wires, it was driving me crazy. I thought I had a bad unit, until I thought hmmm. So I unplugged the brake wire and sahazaam, worked flawlessly.
Again thank you for the input.
Oh and the valet mode only is described in the quick reference guide. With the engine running and with your foot off the brake pedal, you can press the start button twice, remove the key and it will stay running until brake is pressed or you hit start buttton again
