This is the best electronic forum I've seen so far. I hope I can get some help w/ a few questions about my Avistart remote start #4300. In the winter I use the remote start to warm the truck(1995 ford bronco)melt snow off, with the controls on the dash preset before start-up. In the summer with the controls set for cool A/C, the remote start does not turn on the A/C compressor to get cool, yet the blower works, blowing air. Either an accessory wire is not connected or being energized but the blower is functioning. Would the same acc. wire for the blower operate the compressor? By wire I mean from the remote start unit. I know I get heat because the engine warms and the blower kicks on, But why doesn't the compressor kick on? Please do not tell me I need an installer w/ a Bitwriter#998T to program something into something. It must be easier than that.

There's an acc or ingition wire that is not getting powered during remote start. Could you list what you have connected ?
All of the follwing should be powered during remote start
Ing - RED / /light green
2nd ing- gray / YELLOW 18 gauge
Acc1 -    gray / YELLOW
Acc2-     BLACK/ green
I think some had a blue /green but its been so long I can't remember

Just went out to look under the dash to the steering column ign. hookups. First time I really examined what goes where. Took off the lower dash panel under the column, found the wires.   RED / light green, 12-14g, has pink 12-14g spliced into it.     Grey / YELLOW 12-14g has orange spliced in.        BLACK/ green used to have a WHITE/ red wire spliced into it by the left over splice connecter.     Grey / YELLOW 18g cannot be found.   Yes you are right about the Blue/green wire I found behind the climate controls, going into the cig lighter from a harness going deep back to behind heater unit. Can't quite see where it goes. Not connected to climate controls from here. IS that the Blue/green you are talking about for heat/ac ?

I would suspect that BLACK/ green wire. Verify with a meter to see how it acts ( acc or ing wire) then power it the same way with the remote start. The 18 gauge might not be there. You may have to use a relay not sure if you have anymore outputs
Also i'm assuming that your a/c will turn on once you take over the truck with the key

Yes, the a/c will come on normally w/ the key turned on. I found a ref. guide to the avistart wiring. I think what I need is a glossary of terms. I'm not schooled in this stuff.  Why not use the same acc. uotput wire for 2 diff. things? Exactly how would I wire this to get a/c by remote start?? Would I just run wire from BLACK/ green acc. straight to compressor hot wire if the acc. wire turns on remotely? Or does the Avistart have to be connected to that acc. wire to turn it on remotely? By relay?    I know, the only stupid question is one that  don't get asked.

You can't just bridge circuits together there separate for a reason. The avistart should have neg relay controls. Should be a pink, orange, violet control wires
Bosch relay 4 or 5 pin will work for this application
Wire relay as follows
Pin 87 and 86 to fused 12v
Pin 85 to the negative control wire
Pin 30 to BLACK/ green
Diode across pins 85 and 86 band toward 86
Test the BLACK/ green wire using a dvom. meter the wire while turning the key to start if the 12v drops to 0 or close to that's a acc wire. If the 12v stays then its an ing wire.
If its an acc wire then use the neg orange
If its an ing wire then use the neg pink
All your trying to do with the remote start is mimmic what your key does. If the a/c comes on when you use the key then something isn't getting powered during remote start At the ingition switch
if you go to the downloads section on this site and type in avistart 4300 you will find the install guide

Along with what you are saying and the download feature description in the manual brings what you are saying full circle now. Thank you so much for your large amount of help and knowledge. I will put this to use when I wire it together in morning. I just happen to have a couple nice relays to use for this, too. I will let you know how it works out. Thank you. This site is very cool.
