1.8 ohms safe to run on 2 ohm amp?

So heres the story behind this, I bought a 96 Mercedes s320 that the previous owner had removed the Bose headunit and amp and ran aftermarket stuff of his own. He pulled everything out but left the Bose speakers which is what he powered with his amps. The rear shelf has four 5.25" (iirc) woofers that are labeled 2ohm each but with an ohm meter checking them wired parallel i get a reading of 1.8 ohms per pair. Will this be safe to run off a 2ohm per channel stable amp or will it still work too hard? Amp is an MTX RFL404. Im wanting to run each pair off the rear channels and run my components off the front.

should be fine. a speakers ohm load doesnt usually rest exactly at what it is rated for. if you have four woofers that are 2 ohm each and you want to run all four off of the rear channels then you will need to wire each pair together in series so that their total ohm load will be 4 ohms per channel. if you run each pair together in parallel then your ohm load will be too low for that amp. well i guess i missed something. if they are already wired in parallel and reading 1.8ohms then you have a problem. if they are all wired in parallel then the total for all four should be .5ohms not 1.8. i would disconnect all of the speakers and measure them individually to make sure there isnt a blown speaker.
