Not sure I understand your questions. There are two separate issues we are discussing, the trunk release and the defroster.
Trunk Release :
The trunk release is pretty straight forward. The Viper's trunk release output is a (-) 200mA output. The wire guide info on the C.V., while somewhat conflicting,
indicates it will require a relay, either for the high current (+) signal needed or the 5 wire reverse circuit needed. Bottom line, get a relay and follow the Bulldog
Security diagram. Use the upper diagram for a R/S system that has a (-) Trunk Release output.
Defroster circuit :
From the information obtained in the previously mentioned search, it would appear that the Vipers 2nd Status/Defrost Blue/White wire output, when programmed
as stated previously, will supply the correct polarity and type of signal needed by your vehicles defrost circuit without a relay. Of course, adding a properly wired
relay will not hurt anything and will add an extra measure of protection for the Viper.
Please remember that Directed Electronics, manufacturers of your Viper system, wrote that install guide expressly for ( and restricted distribution to ) 12 Volt professionals
that are authorized dealers and were trained by Directed. It is not necessarily a complete guide and it is written using industry and manufacturer specific terms.   You will
find typo's, mis-labeled wires in diagrams and out-of-date information in the guide. Newer systems do not have the push-pull ( aka flip-flop ) type lock outputs, certain programming options have been added, deleted and / or changed, etc.
Soldering is fun!
