Fusing relay coils is almost pointless - it's like fusing LEDs.
A fuse to protect the wiring to a coil (or LEDs) is different - ie, to either protect the output of what switches the coil, or prevent a fire if the wire shorts to GND - but to protect the coil (or LEDs) is essentially pointless (they are unlikely to "flame", and a fuse cannot prevent their normal modes of failure like internal opens or shorts).
Ooops, sorry - I probably should have not reawakened this thread. (I was looking for another old thread and forgot where I was.)
