Car: 2003 toyota celica gt with factory vip rs3200 plus alarm/keyless entry
My friend wanted an alarm remote start combo so i installed a Viper 5704v using an Expresskit PKALL bypass. For some reason i can't get the 5704v to disarm the factory alarm during remote starting. But everything else works good.
This is how i have it hooked up:
(-)200mA STATUS OUTPUT from viper 5704v alarm to (-)WHILE RUNNING on the PKALL and then the key sense wire from PKALL to key sense wire in the car.
There is also two other wires from the PKALL that i dont think i need... it is the DATA IN and DATA OUT wires. Hopefully someone can confirm this for me.
Any suggestions and help is greatly appreciated. I'm thinking since the status output from the alarm is only 200mA, i might need a relay from the PKALL Key sense wire to the key sense wire in the car??? If i cant figure this out then i was going to put the factory alarm into valet mode. And if that doesnt work then completely take out the factory system and just keep the viper alarm/remote start.

Is the factory alarm an add-on?

i dont think its an add on because i called toyota with the vin and they said it came from toyota with the vip rs3200. I did my research and found that you can uninstall the factory alarm and harness and the car will be fine without it.

If u can take it out its an add on. A standard factory alarm is built into the vehicle and usually part of a BCM or something similar. Probably why the key sense isn't disarming it. My suggestion is to remove it and go with the 5704. It has more security features anyways.
