I have two compr kicker subs that have a switch that you can choose between 2 ohm and 8 ohm. On the box it says they are dulvoice 4 ohm.
I have a kicker amp zx500.1 how can I wire the subs to run at 2ohm. The amp is stable at 2ohm.is there away to wire them so the amp has a 2ohm load and the speakers are at 2ohm.
Thanks

If you wire both coils in Parallel, you get 2-ohms.
You would wire the + from the amp, to both + terminals, then wire the - from the amp to both - terminals.
You can use the amp at 8ohms too, and wire both coils in series.
+ terminal from amp , to + on 1st coil, - from 1st coil to + on second coil, - from second coil to amps - terminal.
Parallel:
+)------>(C1+)--->(C2+)
-)------>(C2-)--->(C2-)
2OHM LOAD
Series:
+)----->(C1+)(C1-)-->\
-)<-----(C2-)(C2+)<--/
8OHM LOAD
C1 = Voice Coil 1
C2 = Voice Coil 2

With the drivers you have, your choices are 1 ohm, 4 ohm or 16 ohm. The only way you can achieve a 2 ohm load is to use only one coil of each speaker. This will reduce the speakers power handling by about 30%. I would not do it. Run them at a 4 ohm load and everything will last longer.
