What are the specs on the led that comes with DEI alarms. Is it just a standard 2.2v led bulb on leads, is there a resistor on the leads or is it built in to the brain. I want to cut off the factory led and solder a different color and size on.

When you put it in Valet, does the LED illuminate without flashing? If so, put it in Valet and do the following.

With the LED still in circuit, read the DC voltage across the 2 wires.

Cut it out of the circuit and read the voltage again.

Give me those 2 results.

Mr. IAAI is leading you on the right track. Just note that forward voltage and current ratings are naturally different for leds of different colors. ie, typically white and blue leds have a higher voltage drop than red...
