I installed a Python 4104 in a 2013 Terrain. I used the T-Harness along with a DBALL. The customer is complaining that the factory remote does not work after it is remote started and refused to use the Python remote to unlock the vehicle.
Is there any way around this and if not will the same problem occur in a RSR installation?

That is correct. The factory remote will not work after the vehicle is running. It's by design (from GMC).
The same would happen no matter what configuration you have.
They would have to use the Python remote to open the doors. If that isn't working either, the lock/unlock from the remote start will need to be connected to a lock/unlock switch in the truck. I have seen quite a few of this issue now, and the only workaround I can think of is to wire it to the driver door's switch. For some reason, the vehicle can block the lock/unlock signal over the CAN. Wiring to the door switch simulates a button press on the door.
No question is stupid or not worth asking. You were once a noob, right? :)

Or you could eliminate the DEI unit all together and use a Idatalink piece with a RF KIT and T-Harness. I've never had a issue with theirs but I'm not sure about the factory keyless working when remote started.
I do know you don't have to wire door locks at the switch. That's ridiculous if that's the case. I think I would play around with the thought of using bypasses/T-harnesses from a different company i.e. idatalink or Fortin.
You could also wire it up with a starter & bypass the old fashion way. These vehicles aren't that difficult and it just takes a little more prep work.
I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage

The RS works perfectly as it should....the customer is just being difficult demanding that he factory keyless works when RS'ed, refusing to use the Python remote.

I informed her up front of this but she must of had selective hearing that day. Either way she wants the RS removed and her money refunded if I can't make the Factory FOB work while RS'ed. Sounds like I will be removing the starter and refunding the money.

That sucks. It's working exactly the way its designed.
Have her start the truck with the key. Ask her to try to control the locks with the factory remote. This is exactly what she's trying to accomplish. The truck itself is designed so that when the engine is running, the remotes won't work. It's going to do the same thing when you take the system out. She can contact her local service department to see if the feature can be removed by a certified GM Technician. I'm not sure if it's an option, but it's a dealer issue for sure.

I do a lot of remote starts in gm switchblade key vehicles and by design of gm when the sign is on the factory remote will NOT function no way around this you can get lock unlock wires at the BCm but that still requires using the aftermarket remote to be used I would not remove&give refund as the system and car are working as designed shell just have to accept using the aftermarket fob
