Greetings, everyone! A few days ago, would-be thieves smashed my driver window on my 1992 4Runner, in an attempt to steal my stereo system. It was all bolted down, so they got nothing, but I am out $155 for a window. The truck has an older model Avital alarm from the early 90's. The alarm is working just fine, except that the siren is dead. I ordered 2 sirens, one for the engine compartment and one for the interior. My question is, would it be safe to simply attach the wires from the old engine compartment siren to the new siren and then splice into the 12V + wire connected to the new engine compartment siren, and then run about 6 ft. of that same gauge wire over to the interior siren? I am thinking this will be okay with just 2 sirens. Whereas, if I connected 3 or more sirens, I would likely need a relay to avoid a fire hazard. If this will work, could I also splice into the negative of the new engine comp. siren and run that to the interior siren or would I need to create a new ground for the interior siren?
Thanks for any help.

It's safer to just put in a relay, there's no telling how much siren that old module can drive and once you put too much siren on it it'll kill the siren output for good and you'll have no working siren then.

Thanks for the advice, catback. I will go have a look through the relay diagrams and see just how to do it.

I have been searching all over and cannot seem to find a specific wiring diagram for adding a second siren to my existing alarm system. I even searched in "Relay Diagrams - Quick Reference" and still, no luck. Do any members know where I could find such a diagram?

The relay diagram may cause more confusion.
Wire the relay as follows:
86 - siren output from alarm
30 - connect to positive siren input of both sirens
87 - constant power (I would fuse it at 5 amps)
85 - ground
