Hey All, I have a DVD Player in my '02 Buick Rendezvous.  When ever I stop to get gas or something and turn off the engine but leave the key at ACC the DVD player will restart when I restart the engine.  Is there a way to make it not lose power when the ignition is restarted?

You could tie the 12 volt wire from the dvd player to the accessory wire in the vehicle. That way it will work with the key it the run position or if you cut the switch to the accessory position it will still have power and not cut out on you. Good luck with the fix. Brian

The DVD player works with the key at the accesory position but when I restart the car it powers off and then on again and restarts the movie.

That's because most cars disable the accessories during cranking. Look for a wire (I'm not sure if there's one)that looses power only when there's no key in.

I uploaded the picture but the link is missing the .jpg extension, I don't know why.
Anyway, I hope this works.

Wire it straight to the battery or use a relay to draw constant power from the battery to the IGN & the Constant wire of the DVD player.

Yea I was gonna say wire the turn-on straight to the battery but put a switch for this wire somewhere accessible inside the vehicle, so that whe you're not in your car you can flip it off and prevent the dvd from running down your battery.  But whenever you're in the car and have the switch to the on position it'll always be on so you'll never have to worry about it cutting out on you.  It just  seems like it's a little bit easier to do than using relays and diodes and stuff.
