First install using diodes to isolate some of the connections to vehicle this weekend.....2014 Mazda 3 hatch manual trans/ AL-CA flashed with AL-DL MA3/Klon(W2W). My question is concerning placement of the diodes...does it matter where in the wiring they are i.e. closer to vehicle connections or R/S? Also, have a mix of 4001 and 4007 diodes to use...both serve the same purpose as far as isolating, correct? Thx, Al

No it doesn't matter where.
Voltage handling capacity is the answer.
A relay shutdown spikes at about 200 volts, thus 1N4001 won't do, 1N4007 are fine.
I use 1N4004 for everything.
