Hi,

Just wanted to know how to hook up an air horn to the alarm so,  Basically what i want to do is use the exisiting OEM Horn wire to hook up to the air horn and also to use the air horn when I "honk the horn" during regular driving and get rid of my OEM horns.

I have a Alpine SEC-100S and the output of the OEM Horn is (-)

Thanks in Advance.

Air horns just happen to be one of my specialties. It sounds like you are trying to replace your factory horns with and air horn. It has been my experience that most vehicles have big enough wire and a relay installed by factory so that you can just power your air horn compressor with the switched hot wire that currently powers your horn. If this is not the case in your vechicle you can easily add a relay (switch) that draws power from the battery to power the air horn and is turned on buy the factory hot wire connected to the horn, mentioned earlier. IF you don't understand relays, read the relay sections on this website, they are great.
as far as using your horn with the alarm, there is one drawback to this, if you like the horn to chirp when you arm or disarm your alarm, the airhorn needs a longer connection time to actually chirp. So instead of hearing your horn chirp you most likely will just hear the air horn compressor turn, and maybe a slight sound from horns.(this could be fixed with a latching circuit, but horn chirp confirmation of an alarm is stupid) One of the avantages of an airhorn on an alarm is that you can remotely control the airhorn with the alarm control either with the designated horn button, second output button, or with the panic button. No matter how its hooked its a REALLY fun way to scare people half to death without even being in the vehicle. I do it all the time!
Let me know if you have any specific questions about airhorns or alarms.
