fiberglass box for f-150

i need to know how thick the box should be when im done. jl audio makes a stealth box for my truck that goes in the center console. thew want an arm and a leg, and seeing as to how i have more time than money im going to make it myself. ive glassed boats so im not new to the product, but i dont know how thick it needs to be. also other than the center console thier is a cavity next to the pasenger side back seat. whitch would be the better placement, keeping in my sound quality is verry important. if i need to get dimensions to help youall answer my question i will. oh yea im installing a jl 10w3v2 or rockford he2 10 cant decide. thanks alot for all your input Garrett p.s. im hoping someone besides glassman will respond. he charges money for his advice.( seems kinda wierd in a help forum) you can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you cant pick your friends nose!

1/2" to 3/4" is usually good for fiberglass enclosures. just make sure with that thickness you will have the required volume for those subs, etc.

the JL steath boxes have a lot of trial and error going into them to make them sound really good. they build several sizes and try all the places that a sub can fit. they are made from a 2 piece mold and sealed together. they are made with a chopper gun and resin. no wood or mold fabric of any kind. the boxes are about 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick. if you are going to make your own i would recommend makeing it about 1/2 inch thick. you will need to incorperate how it will mount to the factor location and still look factory while keeping the needed are space.
