I have installed a Viper 4105v remote start in '03 Chev Tracker, auto trans, no PDL, no theft deterrent. Park lights flash with lock/unlock buttons, horn chirps. Remote start does not attempt to start vehicle. No clicks, no LED flash, nothing.
Any ideas? What can I test?
Thanks

Hood pin is installed and confirmed not grounded
Brake switch input connected to foot brake. Do not have a park brake connection, it is an auto transmission

DEI Remote Starters have a shutdown diagnostic. It will tell you what caused the failure to start. Ie, where to look for the problem. "Shutdown" includes failure to start.
To enter shutdown diagnostic mode:
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Press and hold the Program switch.
3. Turn the ignition on and then off.
4. Release the Program switch.
5. Press and release the Program switch.
The LED reports the last system shutdown by flashing for one minute in
the following grouped patterns and stops flashing when the ignition is
turned on.
Shutdown Flash Patterns:
1 System timed out
2 Over-rev shutdown
3 Low or no RPM, Low battery (for voltage & Virtual tach modes)
4 Remote control shutdown (or wht/blu wire)
5 (-) Hood shutdown [gry wire grounded]
6 (+) Brake shutdown [brown wire has 12V present]
7 Neutral safety [blk/wht wire NOT grounded]

Connecting this wire to ground corrected the problem. Thanks for the feedback!
