I wanted to use the dual stage capabilities of both sensors but tailored for an urban environment where the Warn Away is quietly activating the Hazard flasher for 30 seconds and Full Alarm is the normal siren response. The control module is the Directed 5x10. Thanks to az2008 testing and 506T documentation I believe I have a solution.
These sensors will be connected to the 4-pin MUX port where Red is +12, Blk is ground and Blu and Grn are sensor inputs. Per 506T documentation I believe Blu is Zone 2 and Grn is Zone 4.
Based on az2008 testing, the 504D and 508D report their Warn Away signal as <0.8 second pulse on the Grn wire and their Full Alarm signal as >0.8 second pulse on the Blu wire.
The MUX port recognizes both Warn Away and Full Alarm pulses on both of it's sensor connections.
This is why you can connect the 504D or 508D Blu and Grn wires together on either MUX sensor input and have Warn Away and Full Alarm recognized separately. Other control units without this MUX capability require separate connections for the 504D and 508D wires to obtain separate Warn Away and Full Alarm recognition.
My intent is to the 504D and 508D Blu and Grn wires connected together per usual MUX connectivity. Using diodes to keep the Warn Away pulse separate from the Full Alarm pulse, I will also send the Warn Away pulse to a 528T which will activate the Hazard flasher for 30 seconds. Confirmation Chirps will be set to "Off with Warn chirps Off".
This is a polite solution for urban environments where parking is tight and quiet is appreciated. If someone leans or bumps their door against my car, the response is flashing lights rather than an annoying and impolite siren. For the 508D's rain sensitivity again there will just be a quiet flasher response. And since there is a
response thieves will know the system is armed and hopefully be deterred.
The 504D along with the 507M will be connected to MUX Zone 2 as "perimeter" sensors. The 508D, 506T and 509U will be connected to MUX Zone 4 as "intrusion" sensors.
I haven't tested this yet but based on Directed documentation and az2008's testing I believe it will work. Opinions? Corrections?
