2015 Ram Promaster door locks

We just purchesed a 2015 Ram Promaster with electric door locks the owners manual says to pess the key fob once to open drivers door and twice to open passenger door, well this function doesnt work. When you press the key fob once it opens both doors, if you use the key in the drivers door it also unlocks the passenger door. I have been back to the dealers service department and they spent hours trying to figure this out, they went to Ram Tec and they where told this can not be done maybe in a year or two there will be a software update to fix the problem. I find this hard to believe that there is no way to fix this problem, this is a safety concern. Can anyone helpjnjems

If the dealer says it cant be done, then it probably is not a simple fix. The door lock actuators no matter what crazy computer controls they put in, have to be 5 wire at some point in the door. The only thing we will likely be able to help with is installing an aftermarket keyless entry system that will require modifying the wiring in the door/kick panel depending on where the control module is located in the vehicle.
