I just received a VSS5x10 (Viper Smart Start) in the mail, today.
I assumed the kit would have EVERYTHING necessary.
I've read several of the manuals and instructions, but
it seems the instructions require the MC501 (relay pack).
Here's what's included:
Directed 5X10 security module (brain)
Directed DSM350 smart start & GPS module
shock sensor, led, and remote start switch
and several wiring harnesses.
I've read that the DX10 has built in relays
(even though I doubt they're strong enough to kick the starter)
I really don't want to fry the thing.
I over-paid at SonicElectronix for this kit.
My questions are:
Do I need additional relay(s) to wire the remote start?
If not, which harnesses do I wire?
I also purchased the iDataLink ADS ALCA
because I wanted the 3x OEM arm remote start feature, but
turns out I can't use the two systems together.
The DSM350 takes up the data slot for the DX10.
There's always the possibility of running w2w, but
that's a ton of soldering and heat-wrapping for me to do.
I'm at the verge of giving up and taking it to a brick & mortar.
Sorry if my terminology is whack. I've never done an alarm before.
